Benelux Chamber Supports Zhejiang–Netherlands Economic and Trade Conference in Hangzhou

The Benelux Chamber of Commerce was pleased to support the Zhejiang–Netherlands Economic and Trade Conference, held on 16 June 2026 in Hangzhou. Organized by CCPIT Zhejiang, the event brought together nearly 150 business representatives from China and the Netherlands, including more than 50 Dutch companies that travelled to Zhejiang for the occasion.

Several Benelux Chamber members took part in the conference, including GONVVAMA, ING Bank, AluK, Be-cause, Eqologic, Ernst &Young, and HSL Group (HK) Limited. Their participation reflected the diversity of the Chamber’s network and the growing interest among Benelux businesses in Zhejiang’s dynamic economic landscape.

The conference featured opening remarks by Mr. Chen Jianzhong, Chairman of CCPIT Zhejiang, and Ms. Sachi Claringbould, Deputy Consul General of the Netherlands in Shanghai. Speakers highlighted the strong foundations of Zhejiang–Netherlands cooperation and explored opportunities for further collaboration in trade, investment, innovation, and sustainable development. Participants also heard from Ms. Xu Haiyan of the Dutch China Trade and Economic Promotion Association, who provided an overview of recent developments in Sino-Dutch economic and trade relations. Among the distinguished guests in attendance was Mr. Pascal Buffin, Consul General of Belgium in Shanghai.

A highlight of the conference was the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between CCPIT Zhejiang and the Association Netherlands China. The agreement is expected to strengthen institutional ties and create new opportunities for business collaboration between the two regions. The Benelux Chamber welcomes this development as a positive step towards deeper and more sustainable economic cooperation.

Ahead of the conference, the Benelux delegation visited BrainCo and Hangzhou Future Sci-Tech City, gaining first-hand insight into Zhejiang’s thriving innovation ecosystem. The program will continue with visits to leading Zhejiang companies, including Dahua Technology and Unitree Robotics, before the delegation travels to Ningbo for further economic and trade exchange activities.

As a long-standing bridge between Benelux and Chinese businesses, the Benelux Chamber remains committed to supporting meaningful commercial exchanges and creating opportunities for its members across both regions.
